Kaua’i Kahelelani Jewelry

Kahelelani Shells, also known as Ni’ihau Shells, are found in abundance on only two beaches on Kauai and a few beaches on the tiny private island of Ni’ihau. Ni’ihau Shell Leis have been worn for hundreds of years in Hawaii, including being often worn by the Hawaiian Royalty, who have great appreciation for the traditional arts. Ni’ihau shells are some of the only insurable shells in the world. Each individual shell is hand selected, and then hand sewn into the fine jewelry necklace featured here on ART MADE IN HAWAII Website.
Kahelelani means “the royal way”, and
it is the name of an ancient chief of Ni’ihau.
Sunrise Shell

Sunrise shell is the latest craze in Hawaii. The Sunrise shell is a scallop shell know as Langford’s Pecten. These shells are beloved for the way they capture the beauty and natural colors of the beaches on which they are found. We specialize in brighter colored sunrise shells, perfect as gifts and jewelry for that someone special in your life.
